MX Player Desktop / Mobile

  • Redesign the UI and redefine the User Experience on Desktop and Mobile web

MY ROLE:

I worked as a Lead UX designer, doing research, competitive analysis and producing high-fidelity prototypes for both mobile and websites.

PROCESS:

Before starting with the interviews we created a research plan with the key steps to insure that everyone in the team is familiar with the project’s timeline, goals, and scope.

This plan had Research Activities, Plan to recruit users and questions (for all tabs) we’ll ask in interviews. 

Objectives of the Research Plan

  • Understand the end-to-end journey of how and why users
    choose the MX Player app

  • Uncover users thought processes and prior experiences of
    using the app

  • Discover the different app’s users use, and how they feel
    about each app

  • Learn about any pain points users are encountering during their process, and what improvements they might make

We ran a House-Ad on the MX Player app (across each tab) for users to register themselves for taking part in the the User Study.

 

We promised each participant who completes the interview to get ₹500 cash-coupon.

Survey Insights

1. We found that most users who registered for the interview were between the age group of 18-24

2. 90% of the users who registered for the interview were male.

3. Most of the users were Video Tab users.
